    TExt converting to Scientific Notation; need to stop this

    Hi,

    I have UPC codes which I'm looking to import. They're longer than 12 digits, and each time I import or update a table, the values switch to scientific notation.

    I got it to the point where I got the correct values, formatted correctly, into another table. I did this by using a leading ' to denote the number as text. But when I then try an update query to update the "master" table, Access converts everything to sci notation again. I've tried to set the query property to Text, but this also doesn't work. Is there SQL code which will Accomplish this? Here's what I've got:

    Code:
    UPDATE Book1 INNER JOIN Products ON Book1.jhlkj = Products.Vendor_Item_Code SET Book1.asdfsda1 = [Products].[UPC];

    Is asdfsda1 field a text type?

    What method are you using for the import?

    I cannot replicate the issue.
