Changing text boxes to combo boxes

I have been working in the tutorial http://www.functionx.com/access/Lesson34.htm and have created a form. That form has three text boxes now shown:

    Processed BY:

    Customer:

    Room #

They are text boxes, I want them to be combo boxes as shown in the form in the tutorial:

    Ceil Inn: Occupancies

How do I change the text boxes to combo boxes?

    Respectfully,

    Lou Reed

Select the textbox > right click > Change To >

Or delete the textbox and create combobox from scratch.

Either way, you still have to set the combobox properties.

Create a table for each field then the in your table that stores the info for processedby Customer room# you make the Customer_ID into a lookup and connect it to customer tbl etc...

That worked - partially. The text boxes become combo boxes. But when I click on the arrow nothing drops down for me to choose from - nothing. They are just empty spaces.

I know that this is a basic problem. But how do I fix it?

Set the properties as needed to get the combobox to work:

    RowSource
    BoundColumn
    ControlSource
    ColumnCount
    ColumnWidths
    Name

Okay, I have chosen to just use the combo icon on the ribbon. It seems easier than the round about way discussed above.

It will give the Combo Box Wizard that will let me choose the items to put in the dropdown list of choices. Except when I choose the combo
box off the ribbon, I get the label and the unbound control (field). That is it; there is no Combo Box Wizard, it seems it should be there.

Also, it says in some pages that I have printed out that a yellow horizontal line will appear where the combo box will be placed. When I click where I want it to go, this does not happen. Please note that I am using Access 2010.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I pull combobox from the ribbon and the wizard opens.

I've never seen a yellow horizontal line.

I click on the combo box, with the document in Design View and then click on the document.
The textbox and its associated label appear on the design view doc. There is no Combo Box Wizard.

I will try dragging and see what happens.

The yellow horizontal line, I think comes from using an earlier version of Access.

Okay, I think that I know the problem. In order to get the combo box wizard to show up when clicking on the combo box and then the form (in design view)
one must first click on Use Control Wizard in the Controls group. After that it brings up the combo box wizard when you click on the form in design view.

    It is easy.
