RE: Relationships between tables

I have a set of tables that are related as in the attached file. The first table setMBIDNum is nothing more than a table that generates a unique 9 character smart number for all items, documents etc. that are created in other tables, as can be seen in the attachment. Additionally, a link table is used as a change request to create or modify the data in the tables that use the generated smart numbers. I have setMBIDNum with a relationship between it and the tables for which the smart numbers are generated. My question is that since I don't use this table for anything more than generating a smart number, is there any reason why I would really want a relation set between setMBIDNum and the tables that use it?

Did you opt to not use the autonumber provided by Access?
What exactly is the business that your model is intended to support? Can you describe it in plain English?
There seems to be similar fields in different tables and without some context it is difficult to comment.
