Combo box values in filter by form w Split DB

In an "un-split" database, when I do a filter by form I can see the combo box values that are defined for a field (they come from a table/query lookup). However, my production setup is split and when I go to filter by form, I only get the "Is Null, Is Not Null" options in the combo box drop down. Is there a way to change this?

When you split the database, reset the combo box control source property to the back end table name.
