I don't use macros, only VBA. So just did a quick look at the ExportWithFormatting macro action. There is an AutoStart option. Not seeing this available with ImportExportSpreadsheet macro action.

A macro could probably call a custom VBA function that opens the new Excel file. As ranman suggests, SHELL command is one way. FollowHyperlink is another. However, I have experienced failure with FollowHyperlink and had to use SHELL.

you can put this code in a module and it will open any file in its native app.

    usage: OpenNativeApp "c:\folder\file.pdf"
    will open it in acrobat
    and
    OpenNativeApp "c:\folder\file.doc"
will open the doc in Word, etc.

    Code:
    'Attribute VB_Name = "modNativeApp"
    'Option Compare Database
    Option Explicit

Private Declare Function ShellExecute Lib "shell32.dll" Alias "ShellExecuteA" (ByVal hwnd As Long, ByVal lpszOp As String, ByVal lpszFile As String, ByVal lpszParams As String, ByVal lpszDir As String, ByVal FsShowCmd As Long) As Long

Private Declare Function GetDesktopWindow Lib "user32" () As Long
