    What's a milestone

    Okay, I know the definition of this, but I'm still finding difficulty in using it.
    So it shows that a significant stage of a project has been achieved and a milestone has a 0 time duration.


    I know this isn't exactly the correct forum but i know someone would be able to help.
    Could someone just provide 4 or 5 examples of separate milestones?

    How about planting a tree?
    1) Select the tree.
    2) Select a location.
    3) Dig a hole.
    4) Put tree in hole and cover roots with dirt.
    5) Water tree.
    ...watch it grow.
