Control Source Change Resulting in "Enter Parameter Value" Message

    Hello,

I copied an original report A and called it B. This is fed from a query that I copied from query A to query B as well.

I went into the report and changed the Control Sources of all of the objects (that I can find) to feed from B, instead of the old A. However, when I run it, I still get the Enter Parameter Value from Control Source A message. There is no reference to A data in the new B query. Is there a way that I can see a list of all Control Sources in the report, or a way to trace the error message to the cause?

When I click OK through the message, the report seems to run correctly, but I would rather be safe than sorry.

    Cheers!

One common hiding place is in Sorting and Grouping.

There it was, hidden in a Sort by Expression that was still pointing to A.

    Thank you pbaldy!

For future use you can also use database documenter to view a text file of everything in your database and it can help you locate where issues of that nature are arising from.

I use Rick Fisher's Find and Replace for edits like this. Cost about $50. Saved my sanity more than once.
