    Writing queries on linked table

Hei,You guys might find the question is very simple ,But for i am not sure what to do next .

I have SQL database server , and linked them using access .Since the data is so huge in the master database , it is taking some time to load to my system.there few historical transaction which i any way not required , so i thought of writing some quires in access database on the linked table to select only year to date transaction.for one year.i know how to import the data and do it , but i need to have live update as well.So my option is limed to link table .Also any one know how i can change my ODBC time out also in this case .Advance thanks for your assistance.

    Best Regards

    Asof

Everything you say sound good. Just update using queries.
But not sure what you want....
are you updating the SQL table , and THAT is taking a lot of time?

also, you can set the ODBC timeout in the ODBC app.

    Hey

I have master database , that is in SQL Server.I have access to them full read and write .But i should not use them in directly from server ,I can only use through access link table .currently it is linked to sql server to my required table in such a way that what ever in the table it is coming to link table in access .

So i need to limit them for last one year .There is transaction from past 10 years as well.day by day data become more , by the time data reaches to my system ODBC connection getting time out .I just need a solution to this ?
