    module looking for old MDB not accdb backend

    Hi ppl!

    Im trying to get my program running in a few businesses (small) and I want it easily updated. I found an app that will copy front ends over to all other clients and i found a program that relinks front to backend if the computer is changed.
    These are "free within application" modules that i believe I am allowed to use as long as i dont delete the original peoples info.

    Anyway the code is written for finding a MDB file as the backend yet due to contraints I need to leave my files as accdb files and cant change to 2000 or such mdb files...

    This is the code
    Code:
    Option Compare DatabaseOption Explicit

    'Dim strFilter As String
    'Dim strInputFileName As String
    '
    'strFilter = ahtAddFilterItem(strFilter, "Excel Files (*.XLS)", "*.XLS")
    'strInputFileName = ahtCommonFileOpenSave( _
    '                Filter:=strFilter, OpenFile:=True, _
    '                DialogTitle:="Please select an input file...", _
    '                Flags:=ahtOFN_HIDEREADONLY)
    '
    'Note that in order to call the Save As dialog box, you can use the same wrapper function by just setting the OpenFile option as False. For example,
    '
    'Ask for SaveFileName
    'strFilter = ahtAddFilterItem(myStrFilter, "Excel Files (*.xls)", "*.xls")
    'strSaveFileName = ahtCommonFileOpenSave( _
    '                                    OpenFile:=False, _
    '                                    Filter:=strFilter, _
    '                    Flags:=ahtOFN_OVERWRITEPROMPT Or ahtOFN_READONLY)

        Else
            TrimNull = strItem
        End If

    End Function
    Pretty much to link a table to start with it brings up the windows "open file" dialog and wants you to open a mdb file... i just need to find where to change the code so that it allows me to choose accdb files. Im quite sure the rest of the code works fine to still use mdb files though.

    Unless.... anyone has a better idea or advice..!

    I did not look too closely. But, It seems like you can pass *.accdb into the varItem argument of the ahtAddFilterItem function.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
