Multiple field index over two tables

    Hello everyone,

    Apologies for the noob question.

I was wondering if it was possible to create a multi field index spanning two different tables?

For instance. Say one table is "Businesses" and another "Employees". I have created indexes fields for both using the standard four letters and four numbers. (Input mask: LLLL0000).

I have similar fields in both tables but I do not want to have the same code ID (LLLL0000) for either table. Eg. TESC0001 as a business cannot be TESC0001 as an employee.

Is there any way that this can happen?

    Appreciate any advice.

I don't think you can do that across tables.
You may want to research Generalization/Specialization. or SubType/SuperType
It sounds like it may be a structure issue/opportunity. It is difficult to advise without knowing more details.

Here is a link that may help.
