    MDE file

    Hi all,

I've got an Access programme on my Win 7 machine which runs on Access 2003. It's for managing products. It was written for me but the author has now passed away sadly.

I copied it across to a different machine with Win 7 but it has Access 2002. The MDE file used to input data etc. was generated on the 2003 version. When I open it on the 2002 version I get errors. Do I need to generate an MDE file on the 2002 version too?

    Thanks

    Jack

yes you do - access, like many programs is not backwards compatible (i.e. you cannot run a later version on an earlier one)

however, I don't know if you can generate a 2002 mde from 2003, if you can't you will need to upgrade your 2002 machine to 2003 - and you will need the mdb to generate the mde
