    Invisible entries in list box

I have a form containing a combo box and a list box. Based on the choice made in the combo box, the list box is repopulated with a query. It seems to work, except the entries in the list box are invisible. I can tell they are there as each time I change the combo box although the list box appears empty I can select items there - if the query should popoulate it with four values I can select four - even though I can't see them. What's going on?

could be a number of things

have you set the right number of columns?
Are the column widths all set to 0?
is the forecolor set to the same as the backcolor?
