Linking tables other wise apart from the navigation pane

I don't know if some one has had this issue.

What i want to find out is whether it is possible to create a form that helps to link a front end database to backend.
Its a little bit funny when you go to a client's place and you have to use shift+ to open the front end so as to link them in

    their network.

Recently i downloaded an application that converts my front end to an executable file and it is no more possible to get to the navigation pane.
So how do I create the link to the back end if the application has to work in a networked environment?

    Thanks in advance.
