ODBC Connection Not Working after Windows Updates to Microsoft Office

Several users were recently upgraded to 64-bit machines with Office 2010. However, the databases had to remain in 2007 so Access 2010 was uninstalled and 2007 was installed. We had to setup ODBC connections through C:/Windows/SysWOW64/odbcac32.exe, but they worked.

Until this weekend, when many Microsoft Office updates were installed through Windows. Now, we have to open Access 2007 first then navigate to the database. Opening the database directly gives us an error "ODBC - Call Failed" when we try to connect to Oracle tables.

Has anyone heard of this issue? We have done a ton of searching on 32-bit vs. 64-bit, creating ODBC connections directly through Administrative Tools vs. in SysWOW64, tracing when we login... nothing. It comes down to the ODBC Connection being broken now when connecting directly to a database, but it works when Access 2007 was open first.

64bit machines? You mean 64bit Operating system? Most developers and Access proponents will tell you to install Office 32 bit not 64 bit version.
