Question update query not updating table

I am having trouble with a simple update query. I have table Employee ID that has the fields ID, Name, and PIN. on my Table All MDR, I import a file that has the ID in EMPL field. I put both tables in the query design and make the relationship ID---EMPL. I want to update the Employee and PIN field on the ALL MDR table with the data from the Employee ID table. please see screenshot below. I look at the datasheet view before running the query, and there is data present. When I run the query, the data is not updated on the All MDR table, and when I go back into the datasheet view of the query, all the records are blank. Am I doing something wrong?
