    Combined Contributions

Hey all, sorry if this is a really simple question. I've done some searching and couldn't find anything.

I have a database than contains a table of donors and contributions. Each contribution is recorded as a record in the contributions table and linked to donors table via ID number. Is there a way to use a query or else add a field in the contributions table of total contributions to date? IE if over the past 5 years, an individual has donated $100 15 different times, have a field that automatically populates $1,500? If so, could that be further restricted to specify a date range (If I only wanted to know aggregate contributions over the past 3 years). Thank you very much for the help!

That is a calculated value, and so you would not have a field in any table. What you seek is an Aggregate Query which is found in the ribbon when in query design view, it is the sigma icon which looks like the large E.
