    cannot open any database

    Howdy,

First off, let me say that I'm dying here. MS is doing it to me again.

I've got a newly constituted machine (rebuilt OS - WinXP with all updates) that is running Access 2007 (all updates as well) which is part of a domain. I have a domain user that cannot open or create any database on this particular machine. Access opens just fine, but nothing happens after you click on a database (new or existing). Other users (not just administrators) can open databases just fine. This particular user can also work with Access databases on our other domain machines - it's just this one.

Obviously something is screwy with their local permissions but I cannot figure out what that may be. Other office programs work fine.

Any ideas? Particularly about any Access specific security settings?

    Thanks

look into the Access 07 Trust Center locations - and be sure they are set up. If you are managing Access07 applications you need to have an Access07 text book for reference - available at any big box bookstore or Amazon.

Trust centers are all set up for the user on this machine just like the others where he can work without issue.

What's odd is there is no pop up dialog box for an error or explanation of what the problem is - the database just doesn't open. The application doesn't even seem to lock up either. There is also no mention in the application or system event log of any issues.
