    Status bar not working

When I click the icons on the right for design view and sql view on the left it shows I have form view. Only the datasheet view shows correctly as datasheet view. can I change this somehow?

    I've never used those.

    I cannot replicate the issue.

Need more info about what you are doing. What object are you viewing?

Perhaps will help if you post image or provide db.

Whenever I open a table or query, the icons on the bottom right of the screen for datasheet view, sql view, and design view. When I click datasheet view, on the screen bottom left it says datasheet view, but sql and design view both say form view, which is not true. Not a huge deal but I'm worried this defect will lead to bigger defects later. Thanks

Database attached. You can open any query, click the datasheet view icon on the bottom right and it says datasheet view on the bottom left, like it should. Click the design view or sql view icon in the bottom right corner and the bottom left corner says you are in form view, which is not true.

Interesting tho when you hover over the icons on the bottom right, they are named correctly there, datasheet, sql, and design view.

This is not a life ending problem but I worry it will lead to bigger and worse things if something is wrong with my program.
I have several databases and they all react the same.

    THANKS FOR THE HELP

You posted an mdb file. I do get the behavior you describe. But not with an accdb file.

Suggest you build an accdb file and see what happens.

Accdb file attached with same result. Maybe if I re-install Office 2013? I did what you suggested and still get the same result. I clicked File-Save as-Save as- accdb file. It shows up in Explorer as an accdb Access database but I still get the same result.

Okay, get that also. I do not get this with my original accdb.

Try a brand new database with brand new tables and queries.

Then try importing from the mdb into a new accdb file.

Bizarre. Now my db is showing 'Form View'. Woe is me - what have you done!!!!

New discovery - when I initially open query into design view, it just shows 'Ready' on the left, and if I switch to anything else it continues to show 'Ready'. But if I open in datasheet first, I get the behavior you describe.

Never noticed this before so if it has been doing this for past 8 years, hasn't caused any issues. I say just ignore it.
