Access Error

On my laptop I have Access 2010 - I have an application called Budgets which its .mde was generated in Access2003.

So, I tried opening it and received the error message (rightly so,);

Cannot open a database created with a previous version of your application

Then, I found the .mde created from the Version 2010 Access, tried to open it and received the same error.

Then, I said let me open a different access 2010 application (Customer Response System) which is an .mde of version 2010.

I still received the error -

Cannot open a database created with a previous version of your application

Why cant it let me open another application which is of the coorrect version?

mde is not Access 2010 extension, would be accde extension.
