That's what they are for. Way to go.
ok thank you that worked for just the numbers ... now to the next hurdle... lol ....
i have date fields in there as well .. and i need to only select the oldest date that was keyed in... example of the date would be :
205 71 2/17/2010 24 Date Entered 03/22/2010
187 53 1/1/2010 22 Date Entered 03/22/2010
after the query is ran
392 124 1/1/2010 46 ( Thats what I would like to see )
so how do i sum all of the number fields and list the oldest date that was keyed ? the dates have to be in there because that ties to the data .... i hope thats clear enough....
ok i think i answered my own question. For the total I selected 'min' and it gave me the oldest date.
thank you this is such a big help.
Ok everything is grouped by the date entered. Is there a way for me to do a range of dates and it sum for each of the dates that fall within that range ?
You need to play with the Query Grid a little more. You can have the same field in the query more than once so you can add additional criteria. Just uncheck the Display box so it will not appear in the output. Criteria on the same "row" is an AND and on a different row is an OR.
Ok I am very new to this so you are going to have to give me a little more detail or provide an example or something sorry.
Do you have any books on Access yet? There are many on the market that can be helpful here. Here's a link that could be helpful here as well: http://www.fontstuff.com/access/index.htm
I am looking for something that would look like this ...
Date : 03/22/2010 Date: 03/23/2010
Data Sum Data Sum
Data Sum Data Sum
Data Sum Data Sum
Data Sum Data Sum
For a range of dates that i key in. Is that possible ?
