The table links use drive letter mapping? Does each computer have the drive letter and path mapped in Windows? Do users have permission to write to the folder?

Use UNC path in table links and user drive mapping is irrelevant.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Share the folder with back end DB with both modification permission for everyone.
Your permission are at read only hence problem.
Also have to add back end path in trusted path at front end.

than open it from front end to edit data.
