how much text in long integer field?

Does anyone know how many text characters can be stored in a long integer field (i.e. what's the max)?

Not sure if this is what you are asking, but see this for a list.

You wouldn't be storing text in a long integer field, right?

@JoeM, @orange and @june7, thanks for your quick reply. I actually found this article on the MS site which answered it for me: https://support.office.com/en-ca/art...9-ea9dff1fa854

255 characters in a text field and 65,535 in a Memo.

Your question was about Long Integer (a number type) not text type fields.

I thought you were asking about Long Integer, not Text or Memo.

Can't store text in Long Integer, this is a number type. The data is numeric, not text.

As June said, that is not possible.
Why would you even want to try to do that anyway?
Sounds like you want the Text or Memo type, if you plan on storing non-numeric entries.
