    Combo Box problem

My database has been working for 3 years, no problems until now. FE/BE database. About .75G for the BE data, which we compact nightly.

368k records in the BE table the combo box searches (Limit to List set to No) and it has slowed to a crawl when the user tries to enter data, especially if the value has an alpha character - which is about all the time.

Have we exceeded the look-up capability of the combo box?

To add to Paul's response, I believe there is a 64K record limit to the RowSource of a ComboBox.
