Send Primary Key from a Form To A Report

Is this possible?

I was hoping to accomplish this from a Form Button Click Event.

the report was based on a query, so I used [form]![Nameofform]![Nameofcontrol] This works as long as i have the form open.

In the criteria of the report I put in =[form]![Nameofform]![Nameofcontrol]
