    Field Type of type-Double/Float

I want to create a field in a table that will allow me to manually enter values of type double/float.

I can't seem to do this very simple task!

If I create a number field, I am only given a few options for formatting: currency, scientific, percent, general, standard, fixed, euro

I want to be able to type in values like .80 or 2.3345

...but it won't let me no matter what format I choose - this is very frustrating!

In design view of the table, put the cursor in the DataType field that says Number. Then in the bottom half of the screen you should see on the General tab a field called Field Size. On the right side of that field is a DropDown button. Use it and select Double.
