    Used to be friendly

    Hello,

Its been ages since I've used Access. I hope it turns out to be as friendly as I remember... here is my small project:
I have a number of excel files with information arranged by row, with an identifier column. I want to be able to pull specific information from each identifier from the multitude of excel files.

For example if identifier 1234 appears in three files, then I want to access specific information from those three files. Is this easy to do and if so, where will I find instructions for semi-dummies?

Link each of the three files to an Access database. They will appear to look like three tables in the database.

In a query, bring in the three tables. Join them on the common field. Select the fields you wish to display from each table. In the criteria for one of the tables for the common field set your value to bring back.
