Combo Box in subform using query based on field in parent form?

Me big dum nooby, and I'm not even sure I'm asking the right question...

So I have a PO form, with a subform for the line items in the PO (the parts being ordered). Then there's a parts table with parts and their vendor #.

So, after the user enters the vendor # in the PO, I want the part# field in the subform to be a combo box, listing the parts for that vendor, which the user chooses and a record is added to the line items.

I see that I need a query to find all parts for that vendor, but is the query attached to the vendor # field in the parent form, or should it be the source for the combo box, or am I even making any sense?

Thanks in advance for your indulgence...

What you're looking for is a little like this:

    Baldy-Cascading Combos

the row source of the combo would use the vendor in the main form in it's criteria, using either method.
