Table Relationships?

Hello I'm completely new to Access 2007. I'm having difficulty with a tutorial. This is a very common scenario. I have 3 tables:


Member
Video
Loan

I create relationships but how do you make access know the type of relationship you want?

I want members to loans to be 1 to many
I want Loans to Videos to be 1 to 1

but access decides differently, why? How can it know the relationship?

How can I get what I want?

Access decides the relationship based on the fields you choose and weather or not those fields are primary keys or foreign keys. If you put a primary key filed in another table and then link that tables based on those two fields Access will give it a one to many relationship.

Why would you want a 1 to 1. Does Loans to Videos track the the videos when they are loaned out. If so, will you not loan the same video out more then once?

Someone else on another forum mentioned the 1 to 1 as being wrong. But is it to do with not letting the same physical object be loaned more than once simultaneously?

I'm totally new with this so I can't say just yet.

Maybe I'll find out as my abilities grow!

If you can explaine what a "loan" represents as well as a "video" then I will be able to explain. Are you loaning out videos? If so, can a video be loaned out, returned, and then loaned out again?
