Post Acces form based on query

    Hello
I'm trying to function through my database using forms.

I have the following command in my query (qryQuickSheet): [Forms]![frmProjectSearch]![proj_name]

frmProjectSearch has a combo box where I entered an Event Procedure to open frmQuickSheet (which is based on qryQuickSheet)After Update.

Only problem is when I test it frmQuickSheet comes up empty.

When I run qryQuickSheet independently, it works.

    Did I miss a step?

    Please Advise

What is the code in the event procedure? If you open the form independently, does it show the same records the query does?

    Docmd.openform "frmQuicksheet", acNormal

When I open the form independently, it does show the same records that the query does.

    Please advise.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Curious. The original form stays open when this one opens? Can you post the db here?

The bound column of the combo on the first form is an ID field, not the name field. You have to compare apples to apples.

So does that mean I change the bound column to 2, since the proj_name is in the 2nd column?

You can do that or move the criteria to the project number field. Your db corrupted on me so I can't test.

the criteria has to be for project name...

Can I resend the database? I apologize in advance for the corruption, I inherited the db.

You can certainly try changing the bound column to 2 on the combo.
