disable screen refresh upon closing form?

Hello I would like to stop access from refreshing the form upon closing it and create a button that would to a re query manually.

So my question is do you know any vba code or way to disable the automatic refresh in access when you close and open a form?

I can't think of a way offhand. Would it work for you to make it invisible/visible instead of closing?

The only other method that comes to mind is opening the form without a record source, but I don't think that's what you want either. It would open blank, no records. Or opening to a new record.

    Hi -

Can you clarify what you want to do and why? You use the terms "refresh" and "requery", but they are not the same thing - they operate "in different directions" basically.

The data behind the form is updated (refreshed) automatically after you move off the record you are editing or entering, and a requery occurs when a form is opened or the requery is explictly done.

A requery is is meaningless when closing a form.
