    Select... in combobox

I'm sure I've done it before, but can't seem to find where I did it. I have a combobox on a form that is populated by a table/query. I would like the combobox to display "Select..." when the form is opened and have a message box appear if a selection is not made, meaning that "Select..." is not a real choice.

Use a UNION sql to create the "Select ..." line item. Then use code behind form BeforeUpdate event to validate the combobox entry.
