Is there a way to "gray" out a record (non-overwrite)after a submit button is clicked

    Hello,

Just wonderign if there is a way to gray out a record in my database once a user hits a "submit" button?

That way no one can write over the record.

AFAIK, this would require disabling each control on the form.

Instead, close the form or move to new record row.

Why is 'writing over' record a concern? Users do not understand data entry?

I am just trying to make this database bullet proof. Lots of important data that can not be erased.

    Measures you can use:

Set form Allow Deletions to No.

Set form Data Entry to Yes and users will not see existing records, only records created in current session of open form.

    Close form.

If you don't want to close form, then Requery form set with Data Entry yes and the form will be set to new record and just saved record will not be available.
