Data entry form no longer works

I'm using the desktop Contacts database... been working on it a couple of weeks.

For some reason my main data entry form has quit working. I click "New Contact", brings up an empty form, click "Save and Close" and it does not create a new record. When I "open" an existing contact, edit the fields, "Save and Close" it does not update.

I've got a backup from a few days ago that works, but man... did I disable or turn off something? Ouch.
