    Hello all!

Using access 2010, I would like to make an entry that records the last time an entry was changed. In 2010, there is a new macro called "after update" which seems to do what I want, but I can not get it to function.

I have a blank column in my database called "lastupdatetime" .

I created an "after update" "edit record" that has an alias of test. The "action" is set field, which I have [lastupdatetime] entered. The value is set to Time().

I then save and go back to my table. When I change any value in any of my other columns, "lastupdatetime" is not updating at all.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Help would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you!

Attached is a screenshot of what I have set up.

    alansidman,

Thank you for the reply. That link does seem to be in the direction of what I am trying to do. The problem is, unless I am not understanding correctly, it appears to be running before update from a form. In my particular setup, there is no access form, so I was hoping for some way to do it within the table itself or, if it can not be done in the table itself, if there was something that could run whenever a change was made to the table, to then trigger the change.

My users are not editing the table directly, per say; however, they are using an infopath form which in turn does edit the table directly.

Thank you again for any advice that you can give.
