    Sorting Records

I have a database that contains titles, dates, and a description.

I need to sort the report as follows:

    - Titles in alphabetical order but the "The...." titles need to be sorted by the next name in the title not the "The".

    - Dates - the dates are in the following format, mm/dd/yyyy or yyyy or mm/dd or mm/yyyy. Is there any way to sort the dates in an order with the earliest date coming first?

I'm using access 2003 and haven't used it for a couple of years so I guess I'm a newbie again.

I know I have to do some queries so any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Sandy

As you stated, base your report on a query rather than a table and create some calculated fields in the query on which to sort. You can sort either ascending or descending.
