Too many fields defined, Access 2010

I have a table with less than 200 fields defined and am trying to add 1 more and I get the message "Too many fields defined". I don't have duplicate data, I tried increasing the "MAX LOCKS' in regedit and I still get the message. What am I doing, or not doing to cause this?

Please tell us about your table. 200 fields is quite rare for a normalized design.

200 is a lot but should be able to have up to 255.

Have you run Compact & Repair?

Every field is unique for each record that is there and will eventuall be needed.
