Transferring data from MS Excel to MS Access 2013

I am setting up a database using Access 2013, and am trying to test downloading files from Excel. For some reason it is not allowing me to have more then 4 columns in the excel file, it gives the error "Subscript out of range". I thought it was the type of variable at first, but when I tried deleting different columns on both files, the transfer always worked with 4 columns. How do I allow more columns to be transferred?

Also, is there a way to not include the row numbers of the excel file as an ID column and only include the ID given in the first column?

I don't have 2013 but... Have you tried using the wizard to import, creating a new table?

If you aren't using the wizard, what is the method? Post your code.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

I don't see a Wizard for Downloading, only for creating Tables and Queries. There is the download from Excel option that is sort of like a wizard, asking questions and stuff, but it won't let me get more then 4 columns without giving the error.

There is more than one way to import data from Excel to Access. Any process I have ever chosen always imported all of the data. The exception is when data types in excel do not match the data types in the table I am importing to.

You are not giving us much information to go on. Can you describe how you are importing the data? Can you tell us what happens besides evidence in your resulting table of missing data? Do you get an error or warning that some data did not Import? Did a table named Paste Errors appear in your navigation pane?

In Access 2010 the import wizard can be launched to import Excel via the "External Data" tab in the Ribbon.
