Multiple "category fields" in a form

    Hi,

I'm editing a Access database. I started with the Contact Management Database template from the Microsoft website. But in my opinion there is something missing in it. For example I create a person named Batman. I made a table for affiliations. In this table there are several entries (Outsiders, Batman Family, Justice League etc.). This table is connected to a pointer table, the pointer table is connected to my contacts table. I want in the Contact Details form several boxes where you can select that Batman is part of different affiliations. Lets say a maximum of 4 boxes. These boxes need to be linked to my Affiliations table. So that when I click on the box in the form I get the option to select from the entries in the table.

My question is: Does anyone know how to create several drop-down boxes in my form connected to my Affiliations table?

    Greetz,
    Tom

    Options:

    1. four fields in Affiliations table, one for each possible affiliation - this is not a normalized data structure

    2. the affiliations table has multiple records for each contact - this is normalized data structure

    3. multi-value field (I NEVER use multi-value fields)

How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll try the options and see what suits best in my form. Thanks again =3
