Access msg box "You do not have exclusive access to the database at this time"

the msg continues with "if you proceed to make changes, you may not be able to save them later". (Changes can not be saved - tried)

the above displays when opening "design" or "new" for forms and reports. Does not display for Tables and quaries "new" or "design"

The mdb is on a single pc. No access restrictions.

The mdb is fully functional. Earlier today, modified VBA on a couple of new forms.

Can "design" and "new" be restored to forms and reports?

Well.............?? I changed the file name and I can now use "open" and "design" without the Access msg box displaying. Problem solved but completely in the dark as to the cause.
