    Look up field

Whenever I use a look up field to enter values, I get the ID number displayed instead of the value (name). How do I rectify this error. Thanks.

If it is a LookUp field in a table ( usually experts advice against using it in tables ),
Check the Properties ( LookUp ) of the field in the table in Design View.
Check Row Source; Bound Column; Column Count and Column Widths.

    Thanks

The column order of the table/query record source; left to right - - and their widths is what determines visibility.

The default set up typically by the wizard will make the left most column to be bound and have its width as 0 - so that you don't view the key field.

But it is totally controllable by you....
