I'm new to databases and access, I've used spread sheets to keep things organized in the past but we need to keep a lot more information now than ever before.
long story short we have a family farm that we are converting organic and vegetable production. With regular crops you don't have nearly the data to keep track of, one harvest per year. With vegetables you can have multiple harvests and are constantly growing things to replace ones have stopped producing.
I know what information I want to keep track of but trying to find a way to organize it in a database just doesn't make sense to me right now. What should I read or look at to understand database design better?
