I searched online for a solution to this but could not find a sufficient answer.
First I made a split form with datasheet on top and form on bottom. This form is linked to a query. The datasheet shows all the records listed for that query and the form on the bottom by default shows the record selected in the datasheet at the top. I deleted all fields in the form at the bottom and was going to use that section of the split form to navigate to other forms using buttons. However, I changed my mind and tried out reports instead because I learned that in reports you could create buttons.
In reports I found exactly what I was looking for by the way the records are listed and sorted. The problem is that when you scroll down the report, you lose the heading at the top to tell you what category each column represents.
So my question is can you freeze the report headings? I found this guy that was able to make a floating header but it seemed a bit crazy considering the amount of coding and work it took to accomplish it.
My other question is, is there a way to view a form similar to the report view? The way the records are sorted and listed? From what I understand, forms only allow 1 record at a time.
Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.
