    2007 Database not opening

I have built a Database on access 2010. It originally wouldn't open at the office which use access 2007. I went back and to the house and converted the database to 2003. Lost some functions, but overall intact. Took it back to the office and it opened just fine. I then converted it up to the 2007 access database and continued to work on it at the office, then at home.

Today I brought it back to the office and it gave me the original error message "Unrecognized database format". Checked the version, it is still a 2007 Database.

So why is this 2007 Database to opening up at the office using Access 2007?

    See explanation here http://blogs.office.com/b/microsoft-...cess-2007.aspx
A temporary solution is as long as you do not require features in 2010, continue in 2003 ( for table, queries ). Finally add the features to complete the application.
If I remember, "empty cells in reports" is not supported in 2007.

I thought about that. But why would it state it's a 2007 database and not open?

Yes, in Internet Explorer. In the details and the properties.

Is the office computer running Windows XP? I think it will show any file with an accdb extension as Access 2007. The same file in Windows 7 just shows as "Microsoft Access Database". Something happens to the file in Access 2010 that makes it incompatible with 2007.

I'm back home and created a new 2003 mdb. But the forms that have modules in them keep giving me an error:

"This form or report contains changes that are incompatible with the current database format. This form or report was not saved. In order to save your changes, you must remove an layouts that have empty cells in them and/or set the HasModule property for the form or report to No."

I can set the HasModule to No and it will open and save fine. However I need the module to run. Does 2003 not support modules?

Access 2003 certainly supports VBA modules. This is happening with all forms and reports? Unfortunately, I no longer have Access 2003 available. I suggest you not put 2003 in the development loop. Build the database in 2007 because that is the environment it must run in. If any editing done in 2010, make sure no 2010 features are used. Your profile shows that Access 2010 is 64-bit. I am not familiar with 64-bit. I assume the 2007 is 32-bit. Maybe that is the cause of incompatibility. I have no problem taking files back and forth between 2010 and 2007 but I don't have 64-bit.

I am not familiar with the 'empty cells' reference.
