    A multi-user form for Read-Only information

    Hi everyone,

I am brand new to the forum, and am still learning how to build databases in Access. I have a form that multiple users will be accessing the same record at the same time. It is for read only information though. No changes are allowed to be applied to the record.

My problem is that once the first person enters, all others are told the table is locked and it will not open. I have split to FE and BE. BE is being opened as shared. Is my issue that I have set the fields to "locked" within the form? I did this so no one could change the data within the field. Is that locking the table as well? I tried disabling the fields rather than locking them, but that grays them out, and I need them to in bold black for easy reading (eyesight issues for some users).

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Don't lock the record. Instead, adjust the form's property to Allow Edits = No. There are other properties such as allow Additions, Allow Deletions, etc.
