Hello everyone,
I have created a very simple Access database with a few tables. I have one table which I have exported to Excel. I used the export wizard in the ribbon.
All is beautiful. Any changes I make in my database table are reflected in my Excel table. Also, even though the Excel sheet is hidden, if anyone happens to make changes to it they are not reflected in my database. Also beautiful, this is exactly what I need.
However, here is the problem. If my database is closed, and someone opens the Excel file, then I can only open my database as read-only? Why? They (Excel user) cannot make any changes to my database. I need to be able to open my database regardless if the Excel is open.
Also,
This is essentially a master price list in access. The Excel sheet is what our quantity surveyors use. I simply wanted one master price list (access). Is there any limitation to how many instances of the Excel sheet can be open at one time?
