Simple Query Question - (I hope)

SO I have a database that has a list of people and each time the get 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc..

When I run the query it looks similar to the following

8/1/2013 Bill 1st Place
8/2/2013 Bill 2nd Place
8/5/2013 Bill 1st Place
8/9/2013 Bill 2nd Place
8/10/2013 Bill 1st Place

What I want is a formula or criteria that shows only the first time that bill took 1st Place and only the first time Bill took 2nd Place

8/1/2013 Bill 1st Place


8/2/2013 Bill 2nd Place..

And not show any of the rest of the dates..


Hopefully this make sense and it is not that difficult of a task..

Note: There is a lot a Data and it is for several months, I just need to very first time it was first, second, etc...
