    Question: Automated Data entry

I am pretty new to access and not sure where to put this question.
The question is this: I have question like this: is there any way to make data to be entered automatically, just like: If the customer already has a record in the database, then whenever I type his name in a field, all his other related records would be automatically filled in?
For example: If I put the name John Doe, in the "Customer" field; then I put "TX" in the "State" field, all his other records, i.e. DOB, Phone Number would be shown up in respective fields.
    Thanks very much

Have you tried using a ComboBox with Option 3 of the wizard choices? Then use the NotInList event if they type in something new.

Here is a primer on building controls. It shows how to invoke the control wizard http://www.functionx.com/access/Lesson06.htm
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
