Export query or report to preformatted excel sheet

I have been asked to build a database that tracks medical student progress. My coworker has also asked that the main summary report/query to be exported to a preformatted excel spreadsheet that places each unique student summary on a new tab. Is it possible to export possibly using VBA to this preformatted excel worksheet? If so, is there an online reference that I could use anywhere?
