Error: Field Date Update doesn't exist in destination table

Was trying to append an Excel 97-2003 spreadsheet to an existing Access 2010 database.

The last field in the spreadsheet is Date Update.

When I click 'Finish' I get the error "Field Date Update doesn't exist in destination table <name of table>.

This database was created in Access 2003, and was not updated since and I don't have Access 2003 on my destop.

I saved the Excel Spread as a Excel Workbook *.xlsx and tried to append it. Same Error was the result.

Do you want to provide files for analysis? Follow instructions at bottom of my post. Identify table involved.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Thank you. However, this does not involve VBA code.
I want to 'Append' an Excel 2003-97 spreadsheet to a Access 2010 database (created in Access 2003).
The last field in the spreadsheet is Date Update, which is the last column in the Access Database.
The error message I get is "Field Date Update doesn't exist in destination table <name of table>.
Have attached the zipped excel file, but am unable to attach the zipped Access database because the file is 4,073 KB and too big Will be able to attached it in another reply or post?
Appreciate you getting back to me so quickly.
    Thanks

Did you Compact and Repair your db and then ZIP it up before attempting to attach to a post?

No, I just zipped it. Didn't realize I had to Compact and Repair the db.

Could you please let me know how this can be done?

    Thank you

    Thank you very much.
Unfortunately, when I go to Compact and Repair, the only choices I have are to save. I work for a Canadian Federal Government department and as such am very limitted in what I can do.
Will investigate further, and hopefully, with the information you have given me I can post a reply saying 'problem solved'!!!
    Have a great day!

Did you check to see if the file was smaller? I loaded ac2010 and my C&R button doesn't appear to do anything other than blink but it did the C&R.

So the zip file is greater than 2mb without C&R?

Alternative is upload to a fileshare site such as Box.com and post link to file.
