I migrated various files and systems from a 2003 Server to a 64 bit 2012 server a while ago.
The server hosts an Access 2000 .MDB back end database that is accessed via front end access .MDB files that run on a variety of PC's.
Everything OK for about a month then started getting runtime error 3343 unrecognised database format in all the front ends.
Had to run a compact and repair (lost a few table links + a small amount of corruption). Happened 4 times.
In the end I've moved the access back end back onto the original 2003 server, and been OK for 2 days and counting, fingers crossed.
Had a look on the web and some posts seem to suggest that back end .MDB files shouldn't run on 64bit 2012 server.
Is this correct? Is this what is causing the problem? Should I be looking at converting to .ACCDB format?
Thanks in advance. Chris.
